The Family Day long weekend was a good one for the Clarence Creek Castors with two more wins for them in the NCJHL schedule. The Castors crowned the Bytown Royals 6-4 last Friday in Ottawa with Patrick Lemay and Samuel Gaudet (2) each scoring two goals for Clarence Creek. Popping in singles for the Castors were Connor Head-Smith and Nathan Melée. Assisting on the goals were Melée, Tyler Baker, Aiden Cannell, Samuel Gaudet (22), Thomas Lowry, and Sam Paquette. Corey

Saint-Isidore Saint-Isidore won two of its three latest games in the NCJHL schedule. One makeup game set for February 12 against Vankleek Hill had to be postponed again because of last week’s snowstorm. The February 11 match in Chesterville against North Dundas finished 8-6 for Saint-Isidore. Mathieu Grandmont punched in a pair of goals for Saint-Isidore. Scoring singles were Jakob Brunette, Miguel Crispin, Tyler Druce, Kevin Howson, Alexis Leclerc, and Patrick Ranger. Assisting on the goals were Grandmont, Druce, Zackary Bougie, Philippe Burden, Patrick Charlebois, and Frédérik Laflèche. Dawson Irving guarded the net. Kyle Collette scored a pair of goals for North Dundas, Tallying singles were Pierce Egan, Justin Lefebvre, Hugo Lusignan, and Connor Roth. Assisting on the goals were Egan, Lefebvre, Lusignan, Roth, Brodie Barkley, Matthew Cowley, Brad Nash, Zachary Parent, Carter Tait, and William Watson. Caleb Gervais and Reilly Tondreau shared goal-keeping duty. Saint-Isidore clipped the Gatineau-Hull Volant 4-3 in the long weekend Friday game with Kevin Howson scoring a hat trick and Tyler Druce popping in a single for Saint- Isidore. Assisting on the goals were Zackary Bougie, Jakob Brunette, and Ryan Wells, with Dawson Irving guarding the net. Scoring goals for Gatineau were Owen Frenette, Antoine Laflèche, and Mattias Roy. Assists came from Jérémie Cardinal, Mathieu Des Ruisseaux, and Simon Hupé, with Marc-Olivier Bastien in the net. Saturday night at Vankleek Hill, the Cougars hosted and beat Saint-Isidore 7-2. Nikolas Ayotte scored a pair of goals for the Cougars with singles going in the Saint- Isidore net from Nicolas Castonguay, Tyler Dopelhamer, Vincent Huneault, Jonathan Leblanc, and Keean McEachern. Assisting on the goals were Ayotte, Dopelhamer, McEachern, Shayne Allen, Justin Labrosse. Zacharie Leblanc, Zakary Phaneuf, and Jacob Trempe. Alexander Labrèche guarded the net. Scoring for Saint-Isidore were Miguel Crispin and Ryan Wells. Assists came from Jakob Brunette, Mathieu Grandmont, and Patrick Ranger. Dawson Irving and Sebastien Moreau shared goal-keeping duty. Vankleek Hill It has been a good week for the Vankleek Hill Cougars in the NCJHL with two wins to add to their regular season tally plus beating the South Grenville Rangers in the Showdown series over the Family Day long weekend. Last week’s snow storm situation postponed the February 12 makeup game between Vankleek Hill and Saint-Isidore. That game will be rescheduled again. Last Friday night at home, for the start of the Family Day long weekend, the Cougars tamed the Morrisburg Lions 7-1. Ryan Allen punched in a pair of goals against Morrisburg. Scoring singles for Vankleek Hill were Nikolas Ayotte, Justin Labrosse, Trystan Lavoie, Jonathan Leblanc, and Keean McEachern. Assisting on the goals were Allen, Ayotte, Lavoie, Leblanc, Samuel Lacroix, Nicolas Castonguay, Vincent Huneault, Zacharie Leblanc, and Danny Plourde-Grenon. Frederick Durocher guarded the net.
