Les élèves avaient confectionné des cartes FUDSÊÊEFTàHVSJOFTDPNNFDBEFBVYQPVS les résidents.

COUNTIES’ TREASURER SET TO RETIRE
A group of 7 th and 8 th grade students from Le Sommet made four visits to the Place Mont-Roc residence in Hawkesbury, with the goal of spreading joy to local seniors. The four visits took place during Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and most recently, at the end of the school year, on June 19. They spent their time singing and dancing together, playing games and getting to know each other. —supplied photo

ALEXANDRIA TEACHER HONOURED FOR EXCELLENCE
Julie Ménard-Brault will step down as finance director for the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) at the end of this year, but she plans to have the first draft of the 2020 budget ready before then. Ménard-Brault has spent 35 years in financial affairs, including 12 years with the UCPR. During her past four years, she has served as the counties’ financial director. —photo Gregg Chamberlain

Lindsey Howes (centre), an intermediate teacher at Glengarry District High School, in Alexandria, received the Excellence in Teaching (Elementary Schools) Award from the Ontario Council for Technology Education, at its annual awards banquet May 10. She was honoured for her innovative methods for promoting science and technology, both in the classroom and throughout the school.
