Target Building Construction Stanley’s True Value Hardware – Expanding and evolving for the next generation I as well as and a small selection of garden supplies.

n 2010, Joe and Mark Jaconski felt the need to transform Stanley’s Hardware to meet the needs and wants of today’s hardware customer. Founded by their parents in 1948 and located in Roxborough since 1958, the Jaconski family had increased its footprint at 5555 Ridge Avenue by acquiring neighbor- ing properties over the years. Now they perceived the need to expand to a state-of-the-art facility. To meet the needs of their customers, Mark and Joe set their sites on adding ex- panded inventory and services including party and tool rental

Working with a Spring 2013 deadline for project comple- tion, every stage from site preparation and demolition of existing buildings to con- struction and fit-out required execution without compromise. Paramount was maintaining absolute safety for customers, store personnel and construc- tion team members while uninterrupted traffic flow and easy access sustained the busi- ness as building progressed to completion. Said Rich Goodman, presi- dent, Target Building Con- struction, “It’s rewarding to build a retail project for a family business similar to our own company. Starting with pre-construction and through- out the phases of construction, we have found common ground with the Jaconski brothers — it’s easy to see why they remain successful.” The Next Generation Stanley’s True Value Opens May 3rd! While the new building and surroundings have trans- formed Stanley’s, it retains the customer-centric focus of a real hardware store – there’s a sense of order, an awesome dis- play of merchandise, a feeling that you’re going to find what you need. The unique characteristic of Stanley’s Hardware is still old-fashioned customer ser- vice. Once you enter the store, in 7 to 8 seconds an employee will ask, ”May I help you?” I’ve been in the store ten times and it’s happened every time. From RidgeAvenue, always- bustling Stanley’s Hardware services the Northwest part of Philadelphia including Roxbor- ough, East Falls, Manayunk and Chestnut Hill, as well as the surrounding suburbs of Belmont Hills, Bala Cynwyd and the City Line area. While business is split about 60-40 between homeowners and contractors, Stanley’s cus- tomers also include Philadel- phia University, Penn Charter School, Roxborough Memorial Hospital, as well as popular NBC, ABC and CBS broadcast stations and FM radio stations 94 WIP and B101. To celebrate its transfor- mation and thank friends and neighbors, Stanley’s True Value Hardware has scheduled a Grand Opening event May 3rd through 5th. Readers of the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Jour- nal are welcome to attend! n

The Jaconski brothers con- tacted Legend Realty Ser- vices, a national consultant to True Value Hardware, to help plan the construction of a new building on the existing Ridge Avenue site. The project architect, OKW Architects, designed a site layout with the new building placed on the existing parking lot to permit continuous operation through- out construction. Target Building Construc- tion was awarded the project to build a 13,000 s/f store at the Ridge Avenue location.
