Additionally, the center saw the opening of Verizon Fios and the relocation of Staples in October 2012. Verizon’s FIOS retail store now occupies 2,349 s/f. Staples introduced its new, forward-looking and innovative prototype store with the more than 15,000 s/f now showcased at The Shops at Waldorf. Two additional tenants opened this fall in The Shops at Waldorf. Genghis Grill, Over 18,330 s/f of retail space was leased by Urban on behalf of Spring Ridge LP to close out 2012. Yogo Fac- tory (2,420 s/f), Visionworks (3,200 s/f), Hong Thanh Restaurant (5,260 s/f) and AT&T (3,600 s/f expansion) all opened their stores in the last quarter of 2012. Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza (3,850 s/f) is planning to open in July 2013. With over 615,000 s/f of retail space, Broadcasting Square boasts several large retail stores including Tar- get, Marshall’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Petco, Dick’s Sport- ing Goods, Office Depot, Ulta, Babies“R”Us and Weis Mar- kets. Annually, Broadcasting Square generates over $200 million. The three leases consist of a total of approximately 4,500 s/f. Space has been leased to Dunkin’ Donuts, Original Pizza and Eye Level Learn- ing Centers. The Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee and owner of Original Pizza are previ- ous successful tenants of the Washington Town Center that Azarian Realty Co. was able to contact and bring back into the center. Fairfax, VA — Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has recently rehired Jack Vega, PE , as a manager of site/civil services in the firm’s Fairfax office. Vega’s primary duties will include in- tegrating Dewberry’s full-ser- vice site/civil engineering, land planning, and land develop- ment capabilities throughout Northern Virginia; growing the firm’s private- and public-sec- tor client base. Vega began his engineering career at Dewberry in 1988. In 1999 he transitioned to a posi- tion at Toll Brothers, where he supervised engineering, planning, and land surveying professionals for more than 13 years.
