IDS was previously located in 5 facilities in the Mead- owlands market totaling in excess of 640,000 s/f. with 24 ft ceilings. The Blau & Berg Company’s team comprised of Peter J. Murano, Jr. SIOR, Jason M. Crimmins, CCIM, SIOR and Alessandro (Alex) Conte, CCIM determined that a consolidation of warehousing and distribution operations under one roof would prove to not only reduce overall operating costs but streamline business operations as well. The move from the Northern NJ industrial market to the Central NJ Industrial market provided more options of newer state of the art facilities while appreciating a lower rental rate. Utilizing the 36’ clear ceiling height at 24 Applegate in Robbinsville, IDS realized an increased volume in pallet positions while effectively renting ap- proximately twenty percent less square footage.
Barry Cohorsky & John Schilp In 1989 we sold 26 acres to Lamtec, a manufacturer of insula- tion products who built an 80,000 s/f building. In 1999, with business growing, Lamtec doubled the size of the building to its present size. In 2009 Lamtec needed to expand again but was prevented by the New Jersey Highlands Act and moved to a new larger building they built in Upper Mount Bethel, PA taking 175 jobs with them. The vacant building was leased to Uncommon Carrier, headquartered in Kearny, NJ, who contracted with a local company in Mt. Olive, to provide all their trucking and logistic services.
