that the seducing spirits who will preach the doctrines of devils will be apostates from the faith, and will speak their “lies in hypocrisy,” i.e., in sheep’s clothing. Once again, hear the warning of the latter-day folly of an apostate church: “I charge thee therefore before God . . . Preach the word . . . exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not en dure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Tim. 4:1-4), Perhaps the most emphatic warning of all was the warning of Paul to the brethren at Thessalonica: “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man o f sin be revealed” (2 Thess. 2:1-3). The “ falling away” thus signalizes “our gathering to gether unto him” (the translation of the church), the com ing of the man of sin (Antichrist), and the drop of the curtain upon our age. Every true shepherd of the flock should realize in these days that warnings against devour ing wolves can scarcely be exaggerated. We doubt whether anything but the flaming “Word of God,” with His “ves ture dipped in blood” (Rev. 19:13) will ever be able to stop the flood of falsehood pouring from the mouths of the devil’s prophets in these closing hours of our age. May the spirit of the stern old Apostle Paul take pos session of our breasts. Hear him, with an earnestness that burst into tears, warning the elders of the church at Ephe sus even back in his day: “For I have not shunned to de clare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed there-

But the Bible and Christianity are gone! “Re ligion remains” ? Yes, and the Hindu fakir remains! The African witch doctor remains! The “howling dervishes” of India remain! The voodoo priests of Haiti remain! The Lamaistic “prayer-wheelers” of Tibet remain! Satan long ago learned the uselessness of trained gladi ators, enraged lions, maddened bulls, flaming faggots, crosses, racks, swords, and bayonets — but dressing up wolves in sheep’s clothing and titling them “Doctors of Divinity,” placing them in pulpits, seminaries, and univer sities to spout poison gas therefrom—-that is infinitely more effective, i T he F inal A ssault {The final assault on the citadels of the faithful will be led by ecclesiastical “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” One last terrific assault by these knaves—then descends the victori ous Word of God from the heavens (Rev. 19:11-16), and terrible will be their doom. Forget it not— the last hours o f the age will be signalized by a tremendous influx of false prophets into the sanctuaries o f the Lor iO On this the Word of God is explicit: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of ° devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Tim. 4 :1, 2). Note carefully that the Spirit of God “expressly” warns

And He whose arm is strong Will right the ancient wrong, Will set the captive free, Will bend the rebel knee, Will march in majesty, Conquering, and to conquer. O Watchman on the Wall, Be ready for the call! O Traveler in the Way, Look up, and watch and p ray : For Christ will come one day Conquering, and to conquer!

Messiah comes again! Nay, not in blood and pain,

Not bending ’neath the lash— But with the lightning’s flash, And swords that ring and crash; Conquering, and to Conquer."

Sweep countless worlds away—r. That naught may work delay To Him who comes that day Conquering, and to conquer.
