Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA, international sup- plier of printing inks and coatings for packaging applica- tions and labels, has signed a contract to purchase Allino- va, a specialty chemicals company with coating expertise located in Hengelo, the Netherlands. Following the completion of the acquisition, Gijs Elfrink, Founder and Owner, and Bob Horsthuis, Owner, will con- tinue to remain part of the team. In April 2024, Siegwerk established a new global busi- ness unit dedicated to functional coatings for the realiza- tion of sustainable packaging innovations in line with a Circular Economy.

“By acquiring Allinova, Siegwerk is doubling down on our global expertise in the area of functional coatings and therefore strengthening our position to serve our custom- ers even better as an enabler of circular packaging solu- tions across all applications and technologies,” explained Nicolas Wiedmann, CEO of Siegwerk. Today, the CEC unit serves as a cross-divisional hub of excellence for circular solutions, adding specialized func- tional coating technologies to the company’s conventional coating offerings. “With the acquisition of Allinova, we are now further expanding this technological expertise in the field of functional coatings, paving the way for even more packaging innovations in the future,” adds Wiedmann. The latest acquisition follows other strategic invest- ments that Siegwerk has completed during recent years. In 2022, Siegwerk acquired La Sorgente, an ink suppliers for flexographic printing based in Italy. Weigang Appoints Grafopel Exclusive Distributor For Portugal Weigang has appointed Grafopel as its exclusive distribu- tor in Portugal, combining its engineering legacy with Gra- fopel’s six-decade market presence to accelerate growth in flexographic and offset printing applications.
