Introduction This document is aimed at those working in the planning process on the local authority side of planning and development ; including economic development managers, executive directors, development management case officers, planning policy officers, specialist officers such as landscape, urban design and conservation officers and planning managers. This document is also for elected members, particularly those with planning committee or cabinet responsibilities. It explains how our design review panel process works and incorporates suggestions on how local authorities may get the most value from the design review panel process. The use of p anels as part of the built environment planning process has a proven track record and has been around for nearly 100 years.
