TV. CONCERNING COMFORT. "I will not leave you comfortless” (John 14:18). It must have sounded very strange to hear the Lord say: “It is expedient for you that I go away.” But to back up these words He said, “I will not leave, you com fortless.” This promise was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost when thd Holy Spirit was given (Acts 2). In the third Person of the Godhead, we have One who is our source of strength, our guide, and yes, One who can fill every need. Let us learn more and more to yield to the Spirit. V. CONCERNING CHRIST’S RETURN. " I ^ ill come again” (John 14:3). Why should the Lord come back? His answer is, "to receive you unto my self.” Are you not happy that He wills to come back again? We shall ever be with Him. The church will have been completed. We shall never again have to see with the eye of faith, but “we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2)-. aspirations and ultimate success and happiness; yes, and that will, even change your very nature? Then read and actually believe cind obey —two little words of Christ, “come” and "go,” as they are used in the Word of God. The thought which they embody is dynamic because it did not originate in the mind of man, but in the mind of God. It is revealed to men from the Bible by the Spirit of God. To those who by a lively faith have come to know this truth, Christ has become a blessed REALITY! For Those Who Have Topics I. COME UNTO ME—SALVATION. The highest faculty of the human mind is reasoning, and God graciously invites us to "come now, let us reason together." As we reason with the Scripture, we see that the Christ of Calvary is the glorious display of God’s love to lost individuals and to a lost world. The Lord Jesus extends loving, outstretched arms today bid ding the weary and heavy laden sin ner to “come unto me.” "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.” The glorious promise is: “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise oast out. For I came down from heaven” (John 6.‘3t, 38). This invita tion has been extended through the ages and many have come, yet there is room for multitudes more. II. COME APART—SEPARATION. Our Saviour bids us to “come out from among them, and be ye separate” (2 Cor. 6-17). “Come, take up the cross, and follow me” (Mk. 10:21). If the won drous. truths- about Him have -been stamped indelibly upon the fleshly tablets of our hearts, we will hate the " former things of the flesh that can never, satisfy and, in loving obedience to our Lord,, we will gladly bear thle afflictions of the gospel. He comes to dwell in our bodies, that we may be "partaker^ of the divine nature” (2 Pet. 1:4). We become a vessel purified- by His presence, cleansed daily by His Word, conformed to His likeness; and usable for His glory. HI. GO YE—SERVICE. Jesus seeks us in a world of sin and finds us. We respond, and together with Him, we seek the lost. Now in all our “come’s” and "go’s,” in all our calculations, it is no longer “I” but He or we. Can we fully understand or can we explain the enigma of divine and human cooperation? No, but we know that it is true! We are the instruments, He is the power. Let us obey His command: “Go ye there fore, and teach all nations. ;. and, lo, I am with you alway.” "For God, who commanded the light to shine
