Suggestive Jesus Only. —In a recent sermon, Dr. Horton told this story: A little child ask ed the other day, “Has any one seen God?” His mother said, “No!” He then concluded, “If ho one has seen God, 1 wall content myself with Jesus.” One Equals Four. —General Booth’s daughter reported to him one day that she had captured four souls for Christ that morning. “How was it daughter?” hq asked. “Why father, I got a very bad woman to give herself to the Lord, and He saved her. She has three children, and you know, it is only a question of, time until she will bring them all.” Mis sions pay. Converts multiply. The Half Not Told. —“Once Mr. Moody, after preaching on the subject, “Christ as a deliverer,’ said to a Scotchman as he walked away, ‘I did not finish the sub ject.’ ‘Ah, man!’ answered the Scotch man, ‘ye didn’t expect to finish, did ye? It will take all eternity to finish telling what Christ has done for man.’ No wonder the angels sang at the beginning of the story.” Greater Love. —Do we realize what it meant to God to give us His beloved Son? A mother asked her child, “How much do you love me?” The child was puzzled for a moment, and then, looking out of the window to the moonless stars, said, “All the way from here to the stars and back again.” God, through Christ, loved us all the way from heaven to the cross and back again. Just As You Please. —Many will say, ' “I can find God without the help of the

Selections Bible, or Church, or minister.” Very well. Do so if you can. The ferry com pany would feel no jealousy of a man who should prefer to swim to New York. Let him do so if he is able, and we will, talk about it on the other shore; but probably trying to swim would be the thing that would bring him quickest to the boat. So God would have no jeal ousy of a man’s going to heaven without the aid of the Bible, or Church, or minis ter; but let him try to do so, and it will be the surest way to bring him back to them for assistance.—Beecher. On The Wrong Scent.— One of the characteristics of this present age is here voiced. “A man said that he was devoting his attention to finding'impar tial evidence in regard to the religion of Jesus of Nazareth. After his death his library was offered for sale, and it con tained more than a hundred volumes written by avowed opponents of the div inity of Jesus, only five or six works of recognized Christian authors, and not one copy of the Bible.” No Eyes to See. —A little boy was born blind. At last an operation was performed; the light was let in slowly. Then one day his mother led him out of doors and uncovered his eyes, and for the first time he saw the sky and the earth. “Mother,” he cried, “why did you not tell me it was so beautiful?” She burst into tears as she said, “I tried to tell you, dear, but you could not under stand me.” So it is when we try to tell you what is in Christ
