She looked the Bible woman steadily in the eye, for a minute or two, and then said, slowly, “Why, I believe I could.” Together they knelt by the little couch and there was rejoicing in heaven, for a sinner had repented. A dying consumptive woman, found in the rear room of a tenement, renewed her covenant with God. She was taken to the County Hospital, where her min istry for Him was acknowledged by both nurses and patients. Three weeks later standing beside her coffin, her husband accepted her Christ as his Saviour. scientific help to the understanding of the Old Testament.” To this Cobern adds, “Many of these' works would not afford a hint that their authors had ever suspected there was such a thing as an ancient Egyptian or Babylonian lit is tranquillized; captured is the land of we shall see Him as He is.” I John 3:2.) erature.” PERSONALS. Theosophists, Christ ian Scientists, Spiritualists, and out and out believers, have met to hear the Word taught dispensationally. Mene, the days of the derisive criticism are ended; tekel, it is weighed in the balance and found wanting; peres, it is given into the hands of the Medes and Persians, the Chaldeans and the Egyptians. Now we know what the pyramids were for, to bury the sceptics in. But of all this the “higher critic” is willingly ignorant. The hypothetical he knows, the psychological he knows, but to the archaeological he says, “Who are you?” He has a Nelsonian knack of put ting the glass to his blind eye and ignor ing defeat.
