Woodford Manor Aged Care Winter 2025 Newsletter

Goodbye winter and hello warmer weather... As we move into the summer months, we have some new things happening Message from Clinical Care Coordinator Lee-Ann

You will notice some new team members in our registered nursing team: we welcome Suchin, Stephanie, Peter and Sunila. They are all knowledgeable nurses who bring a wealth of experience with them November also sees the introduction of the new strengthened Aged Care Standards. The onus of these puts you, the older person, at the core of what we do. Clinically, this means we want to be able to look after and assist you with keeping as much independence as possible. I encourage you to talk to your registered nurse, Crystal or myself if you feel there are things that you want to be able to do. These can include medication management, mobility, meals etc. We will work with you and your family and the GP if needed to find a solution. Spring is the perfect time for a transition into the warmer months. We encourage you to use the outside areas for a cuppa or just quiet reflection. There is sunscreen available in the nurse's office if you need some. It's also a good time to go through your wardrobe and pack your winter clothes up and get your lighter summer clothes ready. If you would like some help with this, just ask your RN

who will organize a carer to assist you with this. As always, remember to keep your fluids up. Lifestyle are always there with new drinks ideas and there is always cold drinks available in the kitchenette fridges ' Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows’ - Helen Keller Kerrie Gelder Clinical Care Coordinator
