A penalty score can be posted to a player’s scoring record by the Handicap Committee for one or more of the following reasons: • Failure to post a tournament round within seven (7) days of the tournament or no later than the 14th or the last day of the month. Multiple failures to post a score as a tournament may result in 30-day tournament participation suspension • Failure to post a non-tournament round by the 14th or last day of the month • Failure to adjust a score for Equitable Stroke Control • Posting a score higher or lower than recorded on the scorecard

PENALTIES FOR improperly POSTED SCORES

A penalty score is a score posted by the Handicap Committee that is equal to the lowest or highest handicap differential in the player’s current scoring record. If a golfer receives three (3) penalty scores, he/she may have their handicap withdrawn for 60 days. This will prevent participation in ANY event which requires a validated handicap.

Adopt-a-Hole Program 2 0 1 9

Following a very successful program for the past three years, the Adopt-a-Hole Subcommittee is looking for some fellow golfers (and golf groups) to join us this year in helping to keep our ANCC courses in great condition, despite the 80,000+ rounds per year that we play on them. This is a huge amount of play, and when you play golf, you create divots and ball marks – it’s part of the game. It’s our responsibility as golfers to fix our divots and ball marks – and that is part of the etiquette of the game. Please help us. The Golf & Green Committee sponsors the program, which asks volunteers to pay particular attention to repairing ball marks on the greens and divots on the fairways. The groups, couples, and individuals who adopt a hole usually simply pay extra attention to their hole during the play of their normal rounds, encouraging other playing partners to help. It does not take long to sweep a green for ball marks or fill a handful of extra divots as you play. We don’t expect perfection each time, but want to get everyone working towards making the course better. If a member felt his/her hole needs extra attention, he/she would be free to arrange to work on it when his/her activities would not disrupt the pace of play. Last year, we had over 100 volunteers that adopted holes, and the effect on our courses was noticeable. Your course needs you. Please help us protect our investment and
