Senior Flighted Match Play Tournament June through August
Tournaments & Events for Women Golfers are in Full Swing
The 2019 Senior Flighted Match Play Tournament is an individual match play event. All eligible players, 55 years of age or older as of June 1, 2019, will be placed in flights of 8 based on their June 1, 2019 handicap index. All flights will play off the low handicap of the pairing. There will be a men’s and women’s division. For complete details and to sign-up, click here.
In the month of June, WGO-18 will be hosting or co-hosting the following special tournaments: • M.J. Smith Classic Tournament | Arlington Tuesday, 4 June • Chairman’s Classic and Seniors Tournament | Fairfax Friday, 14 June • WGO-18/CWGO Member-Guest Events, including a Par 3 Challenge on Tuesday, 25 June and the Member-Guest Tournament (“FORE THE LOVE OF GOLF”) on Wednesday, 26 June. Stroke Play Championship
The 2019 Stroke Play Championship is a two-day event schedule for Saturday, 1 June at Fairfax, and Sunday, 2 June at Arlington. The Championship includes a Men’s and Women’s Divisions. For complete tournament details and to sign-up, click here.
Inter-Service Scramble Championship
The Inter-Service Scramble Championship will be held on Saturday, 6 July at the Arlington course. The format is a four-person team scramble and will begin with an 8:30 AM shotgun start. The field is limited to the first eight (8) teams from each service so get your online entry in early. For complete tournament information and to enter beginning Thursday, 6 June, click here.
June is a busy month for the Career Women’s Golf Organization (CWGO) as we have many fun and exciting special events coming up: • Keller Cup | June 8 at ARL |Two-Person Best Ball Stable Event - you can sign up with a partner in mind, or ask to be paired with someone. Register here! • Summer Solstice 9 Hole Scramble | June 12 at ARL | 5:30 PM shotgun start - social hour to follow. Registration details will be shared via CWGO email. Register here! • Match Play Championship - This event two rounds throughout the summer, with the championship matches occuring on September 21 to coincide with our Aspiring Champions tournament. Matches will be flighted based on handicap. Register here! • Ladies Member Guest Tournament | Tuesday, 25 June and Wednesday, 26 June at ARL - The theme this year is Fore the Love of Golf. There will be a Fun Par 3 Challenge at ARL on Tuesday evening with a shotgun start at 5:30 PM. Wednesday will be 18 holes of golf with a shotgun start at 9:00 AM.
