Clampitt Proposal

Unlocking the Future of Communication Design at the University of North Texas

presented to Mr. Don Clampitt

Dear Mr. Clampitt,

I am writing to express our deepest gratitude for your 23 years of support to the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas. The invaluable contributions from you and Clampitt Paper Company to our students and programs, particularly the generous provision of paper supplies and internship opportunities, play a crucial role in the success of our students. Your continued generosity truly makes a difference. As chairman and CEO of Clampitt Paper Company, your remarkable leadership in sustaining a family-owned business within a mature industry is both admirable and inspiring. Where others might see challenges, you have embraced innovation, maintaining a strong commitment to community support. Eighty-three years of serving the community is no small feat — congratulations on reaching this significant milestone! I also wish you the very best with the acquisition of the envelope company in Boulder. Your guidance and wisdom have not only propelled your company forward but has also enriched the lives of countless students at CVAD and beyond. We recently discussed the rising costs of tuition and the increasing funding challenges faced by higher education. As you know, inflation impacts every aspect of university operations, from classroom resources to faculty salaries, and budget constraints are an ever-present concern. Only through the generosity of supporters like you can we continue to offer the high-quality education that students need to succeed in an ever-changing world. We are incredibly thankful for your recent gift of $2,000. As we look to the future, I’d like to propose your consideration of a more transformative investment in our students and programs. A gift of $6,000 would have an immediate and significant impact with a 3–5-year pledge of $30,000. This would allow us to support 3 students annually with the Clampitt award. Additionally, it will provide the long-term stability and growth necessary to ensure that we can continue to offer scholarships, maintain robust programming and support our dedicated faculty. Your commitment at this level would enable us to plan confidently for the future, knowing that we will continue to provide the resources our students need to thrive. The legacy you are creating at CVAD is incredibly impactful, providing crucial support to students who aspire to greatness like yourself. For many of them, your contributions are a lifeline, making their dreams possible. Your leadership and generosity have inspired others in the community to follow your example, amplifying the impact of your gift far beyond its monetary value. By now, you may have received the sweatshirt I mailed you. It was designed by our Student Design Organization. This activity is a testament to the activities we can implement with support from donors like you. Thank you once again for your steadfast commitment to education and for considering this opportunity to make an even greater impact on the lives of our students. If you know of others who may share your passion for our mission, I will enthusiastically welcome an introduction. Your advocacy will further expand our circle of support, ensuring that the UNT College of Visual Arts and Design continues to be a place where creativity, innovation and excellence thrive. With heartfelt gratitude,
