Bill Pearce — Word Records teacher, Dr. Rowan Pearce of Pennsyl vania, and his mother, composer of such beautiful songs as “When He Shall Come.” Bill was anxious to know music first hand, so began watching professionals at work, trying new methods of tone and technique. When he was twelve years old, he w,as playing non-profes- sionally on radio programs and in public meetings. Throughout high schools days, Bill Pearce was active in music. During his military career in the Marine Corps, his talent so impressed “ top brass” that he was transferred to spe cial services. Again, almost all of his time was spent in music. After being discharged from the service, he enrolled in the Moody Bible Institute and started working on radio station WMBI. That was more than ten years ago, and Bill Pearce is still a permanent “fixture” and val uable personality with this important Chicagoland Christian station. His re cordings for Word Records have been some of the most distinctive interpre tations to come out of the Christian musical world for a long time. Often teaming up with another WMBI staffer, Dick Anthony, the two have made several albums and a number of records together. Bill also regularly edits a column for “Moody Monthly.” Because of his vocal and instrumen tal abilities, Bill Pearce is in constant demand for me e t i n g s and public appearances across the country. Cer tainly, here is a young man whose talents have been richly blessed of the Lord, and who has consistently given God all of the glory and honor. It is little wonder that he has been so blessed in his service for Christ.
