The Biola Chorale, directed by Dr. Paul Wohlgemuth, has had a busy past few weeks. The group was fea­ tured at the annual Easter Sunrise Service at the Pasadena Rosebowl. Following that, they left for a 12 day tour of churches in various California cities.

Ground was broken Sunday, March 22nd for the Science Classroom build­ ing of the Bible Institute of Los An­ geles, La Mirada Campus. On hand were Dr. Sutherland, Mr. Ray A. Mvers, and Dr. Bolton Davidheiser.

The recent Biola student “Day of Prayer,” held out on the La Mirada Campus for the first time this year, was climaxed as ground was broken for the $125,000.00 student commons (dining room) bulding. Mr. Stuart Cunningham, president of the student body, presented a check for $5,000.00 to Mr. Ray A. Myers, Chairman of the Biola Board of Directors. The next day, the students all volunteered themselves for work in homes, offices and stores, turning in proceeds for the campus program. “God’s Plan of the Ages” is the new correspondence course offered by this important school of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles.

Mr. Tim Spencer (at microphone), director of religious music for RCA Victor, prepares a special interview for the Bible Institute Hour, heard recently throughout the West. Mr. Spencer, formerly of the “ Sons of the Pioneer,” has written more than 500 songs, one of which “ It’s Your Life” is frequently heard over the Biola programs. Through this song a num­ ber of people have been saved. Mr. Spencer kindly offered to send copies of the song free to listeners. More than 1,000 requests were answered. With him, is Mr. A1 Sanders, vice- president of Biola and producer of the programs.

“How Long,” was the theme for the annual Missionary Conference, spon­ sored jointly by the Church of the Open Door and the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. Dr. Arthur B. Whiting, professor of Bible at Biola College and Talbot Seminary gave a series of inspirational messages. The alumni luncheon during the conference is pic­ tured above. Sponsored by the Kappa Chapter of the organization, the meet­ ing was lead by Mr. Kenneth B. Dan­ iels, president.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Soper, Biola graduates, have a time of fellowship in the home of Dr. Samuel H. Suther­ land, president of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, out on the new Biola Campus in La Mirada. Rev. Soper is executive secretary for the Los An­ geles County Christian Endeavor.
