MAKE MEMORIES, NOT EXCUSES Enjoy Your Vacation Without Guilt

The holiday season has become one of the most popular times for Americans to travel and vacation. If you’ve

I’m fortunate that I rarely, if ever, experience guilt while away. I go on personal vacations once or twice a year with family, and I usually don’t have to think about work the entire time I’m gone. The office stays open to take calls and handle any minor repairs that need attention, and if it’s something more urgent, they know how to reach me. Thanks to the digital technology we offer, patients can scan their mouths, allowing us to answer their questions without requiring them to come into the office. During the week of Christmas, I plan on taking a skiing trip with my family. It’s something we try to do every year, and it’s always enjoyable. We’ll usually close the office for Christmas week so everyone can enjoy time with their loved ones. Most of our patients are out of town that week, so they don’t usually miss us! I feel so fortunate to be in the orthodontic world where this option exists. In other medical offices, doctors need to

ever been in an airport in the days leading up to or after Thanksgiving and Christmas, you

know just how crazy traveling during the holidays can get. Yet, a significant percentage of Americans hold off on taking vacations year after year, as they feel too much guilt leaving their workplaces behind. It was something I felt often when

starting my business. Vacation guilt is common for business owners, but every worker can experience it.

So, why are people struggling to leave their work behind and enjoy some quality time with their loved ones? It comes down to two primary reasons. They’re either worried their team will be left shorthanded, causing projects to fall

behind schedule, or concerned about their financial situation and unsure whether they can afford to go on vacation. Thankfully, you can put both of these worries to rest through proper planning. Proper planning involves more than simply deciding on a location and putting it on the calendar. If finances are a concern, you should plan every aspect of your trip, including food, lodging, and travel costs. When you plan far enough ahead, you can build your savings to ensure you have funds to cover the full cost of the vacation. However, if your guilt stems from leaving the workplace and your coworkers alone for a few days, the best thing to do is create a plan with your team to ensure your responsibilities are managed while you’re away. At my office, each team member needs to determine how their job will be covered before leaving. That way, we can care for our patients without additional stress. It’s worked perfectly so far!

find coverage for their patients, but we don’t have as many urgent cases in orthodontics. Often, my patients love hearing that I’m taking a trip because they know how hard we work at the office! I’m thankful to those individuals for helping me enjoy my vacations guilt-free.

I hope you get an opportunity to travel or spend some quality time with your loved ones this holiday season!

If permanent teeth aren’t angled correctly, they cannot push baby teeth out. This delays the eruption of the permanent teeth or can cause them to become impacted. into young adults. While many developments are apparent to the naked eye, the changes within their mouths might not be so obvious. “When should my child first visit the orthodontist?” is one of the most common questions any orthodontist will receive. According to the American Association of Orthodontists, all children should have their first visit with an orthodontist by age 7. Here at Alborzi Orthodontics, we couldn’t agree more. It’s essential your children be evaluated for orthodontic treatment by the time they turn 7, regardless of whether your dentist recommends it or not.

Our office takes a different type of X-ray than your standard dentist and looks for issues that could cause future bite and smile complications. After 30 years in the industry, Dr. Alborzi has seen it all and can accurately predict how a current problem will affect a patient in the future.

Don’t wait until your child has reached their teen years or all of their permanent teeth have come in before scheduling their first orthodontic appointment. Get them on the schedule before they turn 7, and you’ll have a much easier time avoiding high treatment costs later in their life!

In an ideal world, we could wait until our child’s permanent teeth are in before looking at orthodontic treatment, but that’s not always reality.
