MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN Business Development Committee

Dear Fellow Members, In a blink of an eye, we are fast approaching the second quarter of 2022.

As Singapore learns to live with COVID-19, so are we atThe Grassroots’ Club. We have learnt a lot from this pandemic, including the fact that times are changing and that more digital transformation is on the way, which will hopefully enhance our members’ club experience even more. We star ted formulating a fresh approach for the Club’s future development as we entered 2022. We are working quietly but steadily behind the scenes to restrategise and enhance the Club’s commercial development. We are optimistic that this year will bring exciting new endeavours and are delighted to be embarking on this journey with you.

Merry

Enjoy the best of both worlds at the Builder’s Bar, a new Thai-Western restaurant and bar at the Grassroots’ Club.

I f you have visited the Grassroots’ Club recently, you may have noticed an interesting addition to the club’s F&B scene — a casual but stylish alfresco space with a tuk-tuk perched out front. Say hello to the Builder’s Bar. Inspired by the trendy container restaurants that have been popping up in Bangkok, Singapore and across Asia, the Builder’s Bar is fully constructed with metal. The ambience, however, is warm and welcoming with a vibe that appeals to The team behind the Builder’s Bar is no stranger to Singapore’s competitive F&B landscape. They already run two restaurants in Punggol: one serves Thai cuisine; the other specialises in Western food. The Builder’s Bar is a clever amalgamation of everything they know best and is self-described as a Thai-Western fusion concept. families and working adults alike. Get your Mookata fix

While the menu is varied, the Mookata is undoubtedly the star of the show. Come here for reasonably-priced fresh ingredients and a special housemade chilli sauce that has consistently earned a thumbs-up from patrons. The Mookata is most popularly enjoyed with side dishes like theThai Prawn Cake and Thai-Style BBQ Pork Satay — a satisfying meal, indeed!

6 G r a s s r o o t s w i t h p a s s i o n

Mookata originates fromThailand, where it’s also known as Mu Kratha. ‘Mu’ means pork and ‘Kratha’ refers to a skillet or pan, so the popular dish essentially involves grilling pork (and other ingredients) on a dome-shaped pan. The grill is encircled by a moat of broth, so the experience is not unfamiliar to Singaporeans — almost like a cross between Korean barbeque and Chinese steamboat. WHAT IS MOOKATA?

The Builder’s Bar is open to members of the public.

When & how often should I go for a health screening?

Why should I go for a health screening?

This differes according to your condition, but we’d generally recommend that a comprehensive health screen is done once every year for adults above 18 years of age.

Regular health screenings can help to detect health conditions early. Early detection, can result in better outcomes and lower the risk of serious complications.
