CELEBRATING THE BEST OF NORTH BAY BUSINESS

OUR 36 TH ANNUAL READERS’ POLL

“I want the best of both worlds,” Van Halen famously declared in the band’s hit from 1986. Well, if Sammy and the boys were voting in our 2025 Best of the North Bay contest—and don’t think the Red Rocker hasn’t, he’s got longtime Marin connections—they’d be pining for the best of 58 worlds. That’s how many business categories we’re celebrating this year. It’s a banner year for our 36th annual contest. As the magazine enters its 50th year in publication—we launched as Sonoma Business in 1975—we’re upping our Best of the North Bay game. This year, we’ve added a whopping 22 new categories to the readers’ poll—a chance to venerate several trades providing staple services in the region. Think plumbing, HVAC, flooring, etc. We’ve also added a couple of restaurant categories, a chance to vote for “best place to work” and more.

There are so many various economy-driving businesses in the area, expanding our award footprint makes for a more fun contest. It’s also a more helpful contest for readers deciding where to spend their money—all things being equal, the endorsement of thousands of your neighbors can be a dealbreaker. The following pages tally this year’s winners, with short writeups on all the 2025 honorees and slightly longer pieces dedicated to businesses who’ve earned multiple awards (at least one being a first-place finish) this year. This year’s contest received 1,700 ballots, with more than 50,000 individual votes cast—an all time high. Congratulations to this year’s winners! And don’t forget: Voting for next year’s contest will begin in January. It’s never too early to get the campaign going. —Jason Walsh, editor
