T he Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce is on a roll! This is the ninth year the organization has won the Best Chamber of Commerce title in the magazine’s annual readers’ poll. From 200 members nine years ago, the organization has grown to 374 today. And members stick around. The annual renewal rate is an impressive 85%. So, what’s the attraction? There are many worthwhile activities that are convenient for members. “We schedule networking events so that as many members as possible can attend,” says CEO Lisa Orloff. Every month there is a noontime luncheon and morning breakfast as well as after-hours mixers. These provide opportunities for members to meet and showcase their businesses in a casual setting. “People tend to do business with people they know,” Orloff says. Every year there are four fund-raising events. The chamber partners with the City of Rohnert Park for the Holiday Lights Celebration where about 1,500 attend and 40 vendors participate. The other events include a crab feed, silent auction and a business showcase. “We also monitor our members’ Facebook and Instagram pages for news we can repost on the chamber site.
