F ounded in Marin County in 1932, Ongaro & Sons is now owned by the family’s fourth generation. Today, the main branch is in Petaluma, with satellite branches in Santa Rosa and San Anselmo. “We have more recently brought our family company to Sacramento and the greater Sacramento area,” says Nick Hartman, chief growth officer. What started as a plumbing company has, over the years, expanded to include HVAC, electrical and solar. This year, in addition to its win in the Best Plumbing category, Ongaro & Sons also received two second place Best of the North Bay Gold awards in the HVAC and Electrical Contractor categories. Each of its 130 local team members holds all required certifications from the NATE certifications, Electrical Journeyman cards, as well as EPA and Electrification By Alex Russell
