The Despatch Summer 2025

It’s Goodbye From Us

As this is my last Despatch issue I thought I would use this article to list some of my editing career highlights:

1. Colin vs. Cuthbert, the caterpillar cake off.

2.Where’s the protein? Bring back DFC!

3. 2023 one liners.

4.When Australia went to war with their national bird and lost.

5. BOTW vs. TOTK.

These are all treasured memories and although there have been several complaints about my skills as Editor from “anonymous” people (ahem, Raglan), I have had fun as Editor throughout my whole time here – and thanks to the amazing people behind the scenes who make all this possible. Onward and upwards and, I feel within my right to say, I am sure the year 7s will do well next year.

Another year gone for the team at the Despatch, another edition finished. I am

proud to say that we have (hopefully!) passed the mantle of Editors on to a competent team next year. I have loved my time at the Despatch, and I hope everyone has found it the same. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this, especially the teachers, who perhaps we’ll now let out of the figurative editing dungeon where they have been toiling endlessly to make this society a reality.

Thank you to the students and writers and staff, who helped provide yearly coverage for the newspaper, and dedication throughout. I hope you enjoy the Despatch Summer Edition 2025.
