Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe) is the sole developer of Stardew Valley creating the pixel art, music, sound effects, story, and dialogue himself. Barone graduated from the University of Washington Tacoma in 2011 with a computer science degree but was unable to get a job as a game developer. Stardew Valley is a more or less a fan-made Harvest Moon game after as Eric described them as “gotten progressively worse". In 2012, he published an unfinished Stardew Valley to Steam Greenlight, a platform for developers to post their unfinished projects for them to be voted on to the real Steam. Decorate your farm with a plethora of styles, befriend the magical Junimos, meet the friendly townsfolk. Capitalism or Community, Joja or Community Centre. And if you aren’t satisfied with one farm then travel to Ginger Island and find new crops, new NPCs and discover more about the mysterious Mr Qi. And now after almost 10 years of launch, Stardew Valley (on Steam) has accumulated 730,550 reviews with an overwhelming 5 STARS!
