The Despatch Summer 2025

Trash Theatre Trip The Trash theatre trip was a fun afternoon out complete with lots of sweets and madness. We had the whole afternoon off school to go and watch a production about four men in a recycling plant, complete with antics to put a humorous and enjoyable spin on the play. These enjoyable performances included: * a beanbag dance where the four men performing got in beanbags and did a dance – and there was this one beanbag who didn’t stop dancing when the others did – kind of like a “That one guy” moment. * a scene where they tapped plastic bottles on helmets to play the tune of Fur Elise, and there were two volunteers who were needed for this musical performance. The two adult volunteers absolutely sold. Just saying. * a part where they tapped nails on a gas container to create sounds such as a doorbell (don’t worry the gas container didn’t break but an explosion would have been funny). * a swinging light show (ow, my eyes) and they used basketballs thumping on a stage to create an extremely entertaining basketball game and some cool rhythms. * and for the finale, they used chainsaws scraping across barrels to send up huge spark waves. Was it safe? Of course not. They also made a huge “TRASH” sign out of spare parts e. g. the “H” was made of metal car wheel rims and the “S” was made of tubing. It was a very enjoyable near -death experience.
