Meta’s new T&Cs
What is Mark Zuckerberg doing?
In the United States of America, things have changed. Meta, the umbrella group for Instagram,
Facegroup and WhatsApp have changed their guidelines meaning that it is now, according to them, okay to accuse LGBTQ people of being mentally ill simply because they are gay or transgender. “We do allow allegations of mental illness or abnormality when based on gender or sexual orientation, given political and religious discourse about transgenderism and homosexuality and common non - serious usage of words like ‘weird,’” the revised company guidelines read.
WHY HAVE THEY DONE THIS??????????
The guidelines also mean that on Facebook and WhatsApp you can now say transgender people “do not exist.” and you can call them ‘it’. You can also insult a person’s appearance based on their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity It has also deleted warnings against expressions of hate, such as calling people multiple swear words. I will not mention them here as they are too hateful. This could potentially have devastating consequences on what disturbs young people, and this is a big backwards step and needs to be changed NOW!
