The International Year of Co-operatives is the perfect time to reflect on the power of people working together for the common good. At the heart of every co-operative is a simple idea: we’re stronger together. That idea doesn’t just live in boardrooms or balance sheets—it lives in local parks, food banks, schools, care homes, and on our doorsteps. Whether it’s the neighbour who always checks in on others, the volunteer who gives up their weekend to run youth clubs, or the local campaigner working to create positive change— these are the heroes who embody co-operative values in everyday life.
