Scotmid Jigsaw Summer 2025

We make volunteering easier for everyone by removing barriers that stop people from taking part. In Dundee, our Mentoring and Supported Volunteering project helps people who are facing challenges in finding work, getting into education or feeling part of their community. With the support of volunteer mentors and local volunteering opportunities, participants grow in confidence, learn new skills and gain real-life experience that can open new doors.

"I would highly recommend becoming a mentor with MSV to anyone who is passionate about making a positive impact and helping others realise their full potential. Volunteering to be a mentor can help you feel connected to your community in new ways and connect you with other volunteer mentors on the programme." – Orlaith, volunteer mentor with MSV Dundee. Stewart from Volunteering Matters shares a short explainer about the project and why he finds being part of it so rewarding.

We bring people together from different backgrounds and age groups to build understanding and stronger communities. Family Supporters Edinburgh is all about helping families across the city feel more supported and less alone. Our amazing volunteers offer practical help, a listening ear and friendly company to families going through tough times. Each family is matched with a dedicated volunteer who spends regular one-to-one time with them, working together on goals chosen by the family, for the family. It is about building trust, boosting confidence and making things a little bit easier, one step at a time.

“I started volunteering as I wanted to give something back to the community and help families who are struggling and need a friendly hand. Volunteering not only changed the lives of families, but also mine!” – Ewelina, Family Supporters Mentor Take a look at the project impact report for 2024/25 and see the difference it is making in the community.
