This marks my 13th and final National Juried exhibition as your Board Chair. It has been a tremendous privilege and the honor of my life to serve as President, CEO and Board Chairman of AIS. It’s now time for new leadership and fresh ideas and we’d like to congratulate our current Vice Chairman, Kathie Wheeler, on accepting the role of Chairman beginning January 2026. Kathie is a dedicated volunteer and will do an outstanding job of leading AIS forward. I want to thank Charlotte and T.R. Dickinson for their faith in me and inviting me to lead and carry on the legacy they and the founders created. Thank you to my dear husband, Don (our AIS Treasurer), who encouraged me to say yes to this amazing opportunity and for all his support. The success of AIS has truly been a team effort. To our incredible board members, past and present, and Executive Director, Liz Ahrens – thank you for being an absolute dream team to work with and for your unwavering support. You are truly the best! And finally, to our members, thank you for making AIS a part of your artistic journey. Serving you has truly been a labor of love, and seeing you grow and succeed has been the greatest reward. I will be forever grateful. On behalf of our officers, board members, founder Charlotte Dickinson, and Co-founder Pauline Ney, thank you so much for your support of American Impressionism and the American Impressionist Society and thank you for celebrating with us as we present our 26th Annual National Juried Exhibition! Warmest wishes, Debra Joy Groesser AIS AIS Board Chairman
This year marks my 11th year serving on the board of directors as Vice Chairman and 1 year serving as Secretary of AIS. It has been an honor and a joy to work with Debra Joy Groesser for the entire time of my service on the board. She has been an inspiration to me as probably the hardest working person I’ve ever known. I’ve learned so much from her and her leadership abilities and I feel I’ve grown substantially from my time with her on the AIS board and I want to thank her for that! I’d also like to thank our Founder, Charlotte Dickinson, our talented Executive Director, Liz Ahrens and many Board members past and present for their hard work in making AIS what it is today. At the end of this year it is time for me to step aside and make room for new faces and ideas for the future of AIS and I look forward to seeing a new chapter unfold in the coming years. I am not leaving the organization entirely as I am an active Signature member and hope to be applying and participating in future exhibitions as AIS in my opinion is still the best Art Association! It is and always will be an honor to be selected to show my work with AIS! See you at future exhibitions down the road! All my best wishes, Cheryl St. John AIS AIS Secretary and past AIS Board Vice Chairman
