I want to thank Grand Polemarch, Jimmy McMikle for appointing me Province Polemarch after serving with Grand Polemarch Shelton. This role bears much responsibility. I stand on the business of the 26 men who came before me realizing to whom much of this province has been shaped. And I stand WITH you, I still believe that “this belongs to US.” Much has taken place since the beginning of this administration and we still have much to consider. I desire that we continue being innovators and leaders in the Fraternity. Today, we will pivot and look towards the next level to where we need to go, but where are we now? Reclamation - Brother Deadrick Jones has worked to restructure our awards programs relative to chapter submissions. Reengagement - We’ve worked with more than 30 individuals to legitimize their membership placing them officially on the fraternity’s roster. This is in addition to 20 others totaling 50 legitimized Brothers through amnesty. Sponsorships - We continue to add value to our sponsorship programs through partnerships with Vertex and Keen Water. We’ve averaged $10,000 each year in hopes we will increase this. MTA - We’ve initiated over 600 initiates in the last year, adding roughly to the 1100 new brothers since the start of this administration. Reactivation - We’ve reactivated four chapters since the start of this administration. We are exploring 8 more including the USC - Aiken, Morehouse College, University of West GA, Clayton State, and even an exploratory committee will be put in place for Morris Brown College. Expansion is on our radar, as well. We want to welcome our newest edition of the Southeastern Province, The Grovetown-Evans-Martinez (GA) Alumni Chapter, affectionately known as G.E.M.! We welcome, Brother Ari Joffrion, Polemarch, and the chapter to their first Province Council. In addition, we have Georgia Gwinnett College
which has inquired about a chapter charter. In addition, more groups are inquiring about the formation of chapters within our province. Guide Right - We celebrate Brother Randall Sherrell on his vision as he has added more to the Guide Right Program by implementing new content for participants and adding more collegiate opportunities. Brothers, we have missed the mark. So to strengthen our less successful areas, we will implement new groups to explore the development of programs with target dates for the new fraternal year. We believe that a Quality Analysis and Process Improvement approach is the solution. Leadership Opportunities - We are now clear that there is a need for training outside of what we receive at the C. Roger Wilson, since the content is changing. Preparing the next level of leaders for what it takes to grow in the province is necessary. So, I’ve appointed Dr. Leo Brown as chair of the newly formed Leadership Planning Task Force to create a leadership training curriculum and conference for those who wish to attend to take a deep dive into the inner workings of the province, nuances of chapter operations and how to develop and manage (not only) your peers, but those you oversee. This committee will also have Brothers Kelly Bennett, Dr. Joe Ducksworth and Michael Myers to offer suggested content with a launch date in 2025. Communications and Publications - Brother Tyran White has done an exceptional job in 5 different roles under communications. Because of his heavy lift as Editor In Chief, we believe that he, too, needs assistance. Therefore, I’ve appointed Brother Fred Merritt (Lawrenceville - Duluth) as our Province Webmaster, and Brother Greg Armsted (Newnan - Fairburn) to assist with our social media; Brother White will remain the overseer for social media and Khronicle Editor as he will lead the charge with our new membership management program implementation.
