The Khronicle: 27th Administration Edition

Chapter Reactivations: We have successfully reactivated the chapters across this province within the last year - Coastal Carolina & State University Chapter, the Pi Gamma of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; Georgia College & State University Chapter, the Mu Psi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; Morehouse College Chapter, the Pi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; University of South Carolina - Aiken Chapter, the Nu Nu of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the Morris Brown College Chapter, the Beta Delta of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. With these chapters, we can now say that we have grown our active chapters by 10% since my first appointment as Province Polemarch. Corporate Sponsorship: Secured an additional $5,000.00 each in sponsorships from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and AARP: South Carolina. Securing other sponsorships through other corporate organizations is headed by Brother Anthony Clark. These funds will be geared towards offsetting costs for the undergraduates. The Vertex Pharmaceuticals partnership, fostered by Brother Antonio Martez, has been an ongoing relationship going into its fourth year. All sponsorship funds will be used to aid our undergraduate and Grand Chapter programming. Finance: We have had continued success at annual reviews of our budgets, conferences, and membership forecasting through the Province Polemarch-appointed Finance Committee, led by Brother Corey Smith, Province Keeper of Exchequer. Under his leadership, this committee has taken steps to increase our revenue and investments. Because of the work of this committee in expanding our portfolio, we’ve yielded nearly 6% returns on investments since last year, amounting to over $26,000 in increased funds. This committee comprises of the Keeper of Exchequer, Chairman; Senior Province Vice Polemarch, Junior Province Vice Polemarch, Director of Conference Services, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Assistant to the Province Polemarch, the internal auditor and one Past Province Polemarch all appointed by the Province Polemarch who sits on the committee, as well.

Asset Growth: In the past two Province Cycles, this administration has seen an increase in assets, which includes donations, sponsorships, revenue, and investments totaling $1.6 to $1.75 million. As of this fraternal year, access has grown to $1.89 million, resulting in a 5.6% increase. As a result of this growth, we will work with SELF to offset the cost of the Jerry T. Johnson Undergraduate Leadership Summit. This event will not have registration fees moving forward to support the undergraduates financially. C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conference: This area has experienced significant increases in participation, with 406 registered brothers in the 2024 CRWLC, an 8% increase from the previous year. In 2024, the registration grew to 471, nearly a 14% increase from 2023. Chapter Advisors: Advisors continue with check- ins. The goal is to increase the number of trained brothers to maximize oversight coverage for undergraduates. Chapter Expansion: Following the chartering of the Grovetown – Evans – Martinez (GA) Alumni Chapter on November 17, 2023, we chartered the South Fulton (GA) Alumni Chapter. Chartered on November 3, 2024, this group of brothers has already made a significant impact in the South Fulton County area. The Georgia Gwinnett College Expansion Effort led through the Georgia Institute of Technology Chapter, the Lambda Delta of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., addresses the growing student population of 12,000+ at this campus. This initiative will meet the need for Kappa’s presence in the North Metro Atlanta Perimeter Area.
