Undergraduate have committed and are recommitting to the growth and development of our undergraduates. Reactivating chapters only one piece of it. Now, having the ability to offset costs for them is extremely great news and will aid in their future development. We also celebrate Brother Darrell Taylor for suggesting, for what is the first and many to come, the Kappa Closet Initiative for undergraduates to receive gently used or new business clothing items. These items can be used to build wardrobes and will prove beneficial to younger brothers’ ability to thrive in the workplace and at the institutions in which they are enrolled. Engagement: We
Guide Kappa League Conference registration has increased by 10% since the last in- person event, and Brother Sherrell, who you will hear from at this conference, has done an amazing job growing the Guide Right of the Southeastern Province. Right: Health and Wellness: The province continues to support the “Good Health Wins” and “Are You ok?” initiatives. We have been active in the National Fitness Challenge as well. All efforts were led by Brother Antonio Martez. Investigations: Two major investigations resulted in sanctions on alumni chapters. We must understand our risks and actualize our meaning to one another. Hazing of any kind does not guarantee good membership, nor does it foster brotherhood. It’s nothing more but a breeding ground for dissension and unbrotherly activity. Membership Training Academy: The province has initiated over 500 new members under the leadership of Brother Dr. Willie L. Todd, Jr., and continues to set the standard for testing and ritualistic production. Province Council: Although registration was strong to 523, which is a 9% decrease from last year. However, we’ve ended this conference in the black for three consecutive years and are projected to do the same this year, even with a decrease in registration. Risk Management: This group, led by Brother Michael Myers, has frequent round tables for updates on new changes relative to risk mitigation. There is statistical data presented to all chapter risk management chairmen and the province at large during the Province Council. Undergraduate Task Force: Group appointed by the Province Polemarch to oversee and revitalize plans to reimplement Kappa’s presence on campuses in which charters have been revoked. This group, chaired by our Director of Undergraduate Engagement, Brother Brian Golson, continues to reevaluate inactive chapters for consideration of revitalization. This group has successfully reactivated 6 undergraduate chapters over the last three years
My Brothers–
Our success—whether it’s the impressive growth in membership, the increase in financial strength, or the enhanced engagement through our expansion efforts—has been the result of strategic leadership, collaboration, and the unwavering commitment of brothers working toward a common goal. This progress has not come easily; it has required sacrifice, trust, and unity. However, we have also encountered challenges along the way, especially when some among us choose to undermine the very leadership and initiatives that have propelled us forward. Disagreement is natural and even healthy when approached with respect and the intent to strengthen our bond. However, when opposition turns into deliberate sabotage—whether through misinformation, obstruction, or passive resistance— it weakens the foundation we have worked so hard to build.
The effects of such actions are far-reaching:
Fractured Trust – When brothers work against one another, it erodes the trust that binds us and makes it harder to unite behind a shared purpose.
