CELEBRATING LEGACY, LEADERSHIP, AND BROTHERHOOD: THE 2025 JOINT C. RODGER WILSON LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTHEASTERN AND SOUTHERN PROVINCES

In a historic move grounded in legacy, leadership, and shared brotherhood, the Southeastern and Southern Provinces of Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity, Inc. will host a Joint C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conference from September 12–14, 2025. This momentous event, taking place during a landmark year, will honor 75 years of the Southern Province and 100 years of the Southeastern Province—two cornerstone regions in the fraternal framework of Kappa Alpha Psi. This year's conference is more than a training. It is a symbolic reunion, a celebration of history, and a reflection of the Fraternity's enduring commitment to excellence in leadership development.

The Origins: One Province Becomes Two The Southeastern Province was officially chartered in 1926, encompassing the states of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and, at one point, North Carolina, which separated in 1931. Due to its vast geographic size and rapidly expanding membership, the Southeastern Province eventually became the most extensive province in Kappa Alpha Psi by the late 1940s. After much deliberation and strategic evaluation by the Grand Board of Directors, the 1950 Grand Chapter Meeting held in Kansas City, Missouri, presided over by the illustrious J. Ernest Wilkins, Sr., voted to partition the Southeastern Province. This led to the formation of the Southern Province, comprised of Alabama and Florida, while South Carolina and Georgia remained as the newly structured Southeastern Province. The first tangible act of this new alignment was the joint meeting held in Jacksonville, Florida, October 18–21, 1951, hosted by the Jacksonville Alumni Chapter. This moment marked not only the operational launch of the Southern Province but a fraternal handshake between two now-distinct provinces rooted in a common origin.
