Honoring Brotherhood and Legacy: The Work of the Southeastern Province Senior Kappas Committee By Kenneth Benjamin The Southeastern Province continues to thrive through the tireless efforts of its leaders, and among those making a profound impact is Brother Kenneth Benjamin, Chairman of the Southeastern Province Senior Kappas Committee. Representing the province on the national stage, Brother Benjamin’s leadership reflects the highest ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.—honoring the wisdom of our elders while strengthening the bridge to future generations. As the national Senior Kappas representative for the Southeastern Province, Brother Benjamin has taken on a multifaceted role that centers on coordination, communication, and legacy building. His core responsibilities include: 1. Organizing Senior Kappa Chairmen in Each Chapter – Brother Benjamin ensures that every chapter across the province has a dedicated Senior Kappa liaison, promoting consistency and engagement across the region. 2. Monthly Touch Points with Chapter Representatives – He leads regular monthly meetings to provide guidance, share updates, and offer support to each chapter’s Senior Kappa Chairman, fostering unity and accountability. 3. Quarterly Progress Reporting – Brother Benjamin compiles and shares updates on initiatives, participation, and successes—providing a clear picture of the program’s impact across the province. 4. Province Council Reporting – At each Province Council, Brother Benjamin delivers a comprehensive report to the body at large, reflecting the work, challenges, and triumphs of the Senior Kappas Committee. Beyond administration, Brother Benjamin champions initiatives that support the greater mission of the fraternity. He plays a key role in advancing the Kappa Legacy Badge, a vital program that channels resources through the Kappa Foundation to support undergraduate members and future leaders of the fraternity. His advocacy of this initiative underscores his deep commitment to intergenerational support and sustaining the legacy of Kappa Alpha Psi. One of the committee’s hallmark programs under his leadership is the annual Senior Kappa Week, held each spring. Chapters across the province are encouraged to host activities that celebrate and engage Senior Kappas, highlighting their service and continued involvement. These events serve to honor their contributions while reinforcing the fraternity’s lifelong commitment to brotherhood. Additionally, Brother Benjamin has led efforts to introduce a Senior Kappa Award, a new recognition designed to spotlight the outstanding contributions of Senior Kappas at the chapter and provincial levels. While still under review, the proposed award reflects a growing culture of appreciation and reverence for those who have paved the way. Brother Kenneth Benjamin’s leadership of the Senior Kappas Committee has been nothing short of exceptional. His vision, consistency, and passion have elevated the experience of Senior Kappas across the Southeastern Province. We are proud to celebrate his dedication and the remarkable work he continues to do in preserving the legacy, spirit, and unity of Kappa Alpha Psi.
