The Bylaws Committee has completed a significant review and update of the province’s governing document, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining alignment with the national constitution and statutes. The committee’s work culminated in the adoption of several important amendments during the 99th Province Council. At the heart of the committee’s efforts was a comprehensive review of the bylaws to ensure they reflect the current needs and aspirations of the Province. Guided by a spirit of clarity, modernization, and consistency, the committee carefully examined the existing language, identified areas for improvement, and incorporated new provisions where appropriate. One of the most notable accomplishments was the successful addition of language to formally recognize the Deaver P. Young Award. This new honor celebrates distinguished service and embodies the legacy of leadership and commitment exemplified by Brother Deaver P. Young. The inclusion of this award within the bylaws ensures its permanence as a symbol of excellence and recognition for future recipients. Additionally, the committee proposed and gained approval for a structural change regarding two key offices within the Province: the Auditor and the Chaplain. Previously appointed positions, these roles are now designated as elected offices, aligning the Province with the procedures outlined in the national constitution and statutes. This change enhances transparency, encourages broader participation, and strengthens the democratic process within the Province. All proposed changes were presented and successfully ratified at the 99th Province Council, marking a milestone in the ongoing evolution of the Province’s governance framework. The Bylaws Committee’s diligent and forward-thinking work ensures that the Province remains well-positioned to uphold its values, recognize its members, and continue progressing with integrity and purpose.
