Maira Fonseca Chairperson of Dermatology
Maira Fonseca completed her BS with honors at Univ. of Maryland and her medical education at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She was an early adopter of health care equity. She also served as a research fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering looking at the evolution of nevi in children. She completed her dermatology training at Weill Cornell and was a resident at Lincoln. Dr. Fonseca has many academic publications and presentations to her credit. Immediately following residency she joined Lincoln in 2019 as a dermatology attending. She excels as a clinician, educator and patient advocate. In Jan. 2023 she accepted the position of Chairperson of Dermatology due to her dedication to Lincoln and the Lincoln community. With her team she has expanded access for our patients, brought in new specialties and improved existing services. Dr. Fonseca is a true advocate for patients and for Lincoln!
