SHORT & LONG-TERM GOALS Setting goals and smashing them is the key to lifelong success. Short-term goals are the ones that are accomplished in a few days, weeks, or a year. Examples include getting your driver’s license, reading an entire book, or passing the SAT. Long-term goals are those which take more than five years to accomplish. Examples include getting a masters degree or buying a house. When setting goals, it is important to make sure they are smart. This means specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely. Clearly defined goals that are precise and detailed help you stay focused and provide a roadmap to long-term success.
