FACT, FAITH, FEELING God has given us eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. He is, as it were, a great reservoir of life, out of whom each one of us may take by faith all the life that we need. “ In Him was life.” (John 1 :4 ); “ the Word of Life” (1 John l : i ) ; “ that eternal life which was with the Father” (1 John 1 :2). We do not have to create this life, nor earn it, nor buy it. We can only receive it as a gift, just as we have received our human life. "And our receiving is by faith. 1. THE FACT— “ And this is the record, that God hath given to us eter­ nal life, and this life is in His Son.” (1 John 5:11.) 2. THE FAITH—-“ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:14, 15).
