Brook + Whittle Awarded Patent For Light-Blocking Shrink Sleeve Brook + Whittle has been awarded a U.S. patent for its GreenLabel BlockOut innovation, a recyclable light-block- ing shrink sleeve solution for PET packaging. The transition to recyclable clear PET packaging has been particularly challenging in markets such as dairy, beverage, and nutraceuticals, where protecting contents from light is crucial to prevent spoilage, nutrient loss, and flavor change, said the company. Clear PET packaging is said to offer a significantly lower carbon footprint, can be recycled multiple times, and is more broadly accepted by recycling systems. It is designed to be fully compatible with existing re- cycling processes, ensuring it does not contaminate the recycling stream. Jake Chaney

A structured transition period alongside the outgoing CEO, Richard Knight, will take place until the end of the year, after which Nadin will officially assume his appointment.
