a second chance. You can go to our Ninevehs and, out of obedience, deliver the “whole truth” of the Gospel and con- front the sins of our cul- ture — no matter how fearful you are about de- livering that message, or how it will be received. Those, gentlemen, are our marching orders! If not, and you are still “slumbering below deck,” please note that your special delivery whale may be on its way to you as we speak. You can’t obediently serve our Lord while catering to our evil culture. God will send circum- stances our way to wake us up from our disobedi- ence and “fearful slum- ber.” Email: mrorabeckc21@yahoo.com

Our church just fin- ished up studying the Book of Jonah. Now if you are a pastor, you are most likely familiar with Jonah. In the first chap- ter, God gives Jonah his marching orders. “Go to the great city of Nineveh and “preach against it, because its wickedness has come upon Me.” But in the very next chapter, it reads, “But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish, he went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee the Lord.” Now, not going to Nin- eveh as ordered by God, may have been the prac- tical choice from Jonah’s position. The Ninevites were a violent and wicked people. They not only viciously killed their enemies, they would torture them, showing no mercy! So, out of fear, Jonah, in- stead of going to Nineveh as instructed, ran in the opposite direction, run- ning from his marching orders and from God Himself! But running from God and God’s agenda, is going cost you! In Jonah’s case, God sent a fierce storm to get Jonah’s attention. “Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.” Eventually Jonah’s fel- low sailors figured out they didn’t have a weather problem, but a spiritual problem, and that spiritual problem was sleeping below deck. Upon waking Jonah, it wasn’t long before they cast him overboard and into the sea. As Jonah helplessly flailed in the raging sea, he was still unwilling to submit to God, choosing death by drowning instead of obeying the Lord. Having enough of this, God sent Jonah a “wake up call”
“But the Lord provided
a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the belly of the fish for three days and three nights.” I wonder how many “Jonahs” occupy the pulpits of American churches today, silently disobeying God’s call for them to stand and “preach against” the Ninevehs of today? I wonder if God was still in the “whale delivery business” for disobedi- ence today, how many pastors would stay as far away from water — any water — as possi- ble? How many pastors would be canceling their “Carnival Cruises?” Last night, I attended a prayer meeting where we met in corporate prayer to pray against abortion. Upon arriving, I was given a handout of which we were to be praying about. One of the bullet points was: “Lord we pray that more pastors would find the courage to speak up about abortion.” Upon reading that, I kind of snickered to my- self, for I have never heard a sermon con- demning abortion from the pulpit. I recently found out that one of my earlier mentors, a senior pastor whom I would frequently seek guidance and wis- dom from, chastised one

structed.
And as a result of this kind of cowardice and disobedience, the American Church has lost its “salt” and guided its sheep into the hands of the enemy. How many apostate churches today now embrace and accept the “trans ideol- ogy,” champion for abortion, have “pride flags” planted on their lawns and hold “Pride Festivals” at their churches? How many apostate churches have been built on a founda- tion of sand? “But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” For many, a storm is raging — and a whale is on its way to many a church doorstep … ar- riving C.O.D.!

In the end, Jonah re- pented and prayed, and was given a second chance and dropped off on dry land. Again God gave him his marching orders, but this time,
