If Jesus Came With You to School, What Would You Do? (Part 1)

By Carey Kinsolving September 2025 “I would ask Him for all the answers. I would buy Him lunch,” says Bobby, age 7.

“If Jesus came to my school, I think I would show Him how I can do the monkey bars,” says Lauren, 7. “I would ask Him to swing me. I would also ask Him what heaven is like.”

and told others the Messiah had come. As the Samaritan woman who came to draw water from the well discovered, Jesus offers living water (eternal life) to all who drink (believe in Him).

Yes, it would be nice to not study and have the answers to those pesky tests. Then, there’s the other trial that takes the fun out of school — homework. “I would tell Jesus about the 1,000 pages we have to read,” says Eric, 9. “I would tell Him about my homework Mrs. Wright gave me.” Eric, do you think Jesus would decrease your reading or homework? Don’t count on it. This might be hard for you to believe, but most teach- ers have the best interests of their students in mind.

“If Jesus was right here at school, I would jump up and down, and give Him a big hug,” says Caroline, 6, “because I want to make Jesus smile, and I would bow down to Him in respect.” Our lives would be radically transformed if we lived to make Jesus smile. Eliminating thoughts, words and actions that make Jesus weep would start us toward this lofty goal.

Think about this: Forget about your rights. If God gave us our rights as people who have sinned against Him, we would have no hope of spending eternity with Him. Every day, our hearts should be jumping for joy with gratitude and bowing down before God with reverence for His grace and mercy to us. Memorize this truth: “Now to Him who is able to do exceed- ingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Eph- esians 3:20-21). Ask this question: When is the last time you made Jesus smile? KidsTalkAboutGod.org

When Jesus walked on the Earth, His home- work was heaven’s work. He always listened to His Father’s voice and obeyed perfectly. Because of His obedience in dying on the cross, our disobedience doesn’t have to keep us out of heaven. Ellyn, 9, has another plan for dealing with school: “I would ask Jesus to get my brother out of school, get on a cloud and fly us home.” I wonder if the Lord could arrange a cloud-ride home about two minutes before a final exam. What teacher could argue with being whisked away on a cloud?

Some of us can’t imagine Jesus taking time to swing a child on a playground. It seems so ordinary. We like the stories of Jesus walking on the water, feeding 5,000 people or healing a man born blind. If we always look for Jesus in the miracu- lous, we’ll miss Him in the ordinary details of life. I remember a front-page story in a south Texas newspaper of a woman who saw the image of Jesus in a tortilla. She made a little shrine in her house, and people lined up to see it. What could be more ordinary than asking for a drink of water? Jesus asked for a drink, and a revival broke out in a Samaritan town (John 4). A woman drank of the living water

and realistic pose in the foreground at a Wim- bledon tennis event. However, those men swooning over her are now crushed to learn that she does not exist. She is fake, an AI-generated concoction of anonymous AI wonderkins. Yes, AI can be

Here is a case in point. A friend of mine has been dabbling in AI “just for fun” and recently challenged ChatGPT* (his preferred source) with some questions about Good and Evil. In doing so he (the User) first set the criteria for AI’s response (the Assistant). The re-

truthfully, the User asked this series of ques- tions. User: Best one word description of Satan? Assistant: Liar. User: Best one word description of Jesus? Assistant: Truth. User: Best one word description of the Bible? Assistant: Life. User: Are people deceived by AI? Assistant: Yes. User: Do you ever deceive users? Assistant: Yes. User: Do you knowingly lie to users? Assis- tant: No. User: What is the difference between lying and deceiving? Assistant: Intent. User: To a Christian user, what is the most dangerous aspect of AI? Assistant: Deception. Therein lies the biggest threat of this new technology we now term AI or Artificial Intelli- gence. Will it be used for good or evil; for truth or deception? We all will have to be on height- ened alert for the truth versus lies and decep- tion and instruct our children and the generations of today and tomorrow to do the same. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1). Jesus warned that in the Last Days: “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24:24).

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is becoming the new rage or panacea throwing the world into a tizzy and informational meltdown. If you have a Facebook or other social media ac- count you have likely been inundated with beautiful AI landscapes, exotic-looking birds, babies resembling famous adults that are doing stand-up comedy, singing or cracking jokes. In some respects, AI has been used for good to bring an air of lightheartedness into our lives. It also has made life a little easier when searching for information on a specific topic or in help with rewriting a difficult para- graph, etc. But, beware, AI has its genesis of human origin and therefore can produce deceptive and even evil intent. Back in July this beautiful woman, or image of one, made men on social media lose their minds. The young lady in the photo here is taking social media by storm as men around the world are going ga-ga over her beauty and ap- parent seductive charm. Mia Zelu’s image is popping up at various public events, such as Wimbledon, a soccer stadium in Spain and sunning herself on a docked yacht. She has captivated the attention of ten of thousands of men and her Instagram account garnered 165,000 followers within hours. In the image, however, even in a brief view, there seems to be something askew. The woman appears to be of Amazonian stature of Greek mythology and dwarfs those around her. In another AI-generated image of the “same” woman, she takes on a more proportionate

fun and helpful, and this author has dab- bled in it a little to see what it can generate in terms of useful or playful phrases or images. However, there is

a potential and real- istic evil downside. Evil actors are al- ready using it to en- hance their ability to steal billions of dollars in public and private funds around the world or compromise security, mil- itary or financial systems. Now, if AI users can generate a real life- looking beauty like Mia and put realistic- sounding words into the mouths of babies, what can evil doers or evil nations do to de- ceive the non-alert or gullible? Imagine if one or more people or a despotic nation-state decided to generate a real-look- ing image of a world leader and put deceptive or false words in his or her mouth that incited unrest or potential conflict, or a worldwide panic or regional collapse. It would be cata- strophic, and it could be very possible if there are not strict controls established for AI use.

and demons have influence in this world? Assistant: Yes. (Looks like we are off to a good start of un- derstanding.) User: Do Angels influence your answers? Assistant: No. User: Do demons ever influence your re- sponses? Assistant: No. (OK, sounding good.) User: Do demons influence the direction of technology? Assistant: Yes. User: Is the development of AI being influ- enced by demons? Assistant: Yes. (Whoops! Now the truth starts to be re- vealed.) After several more questions about the na- ture of Satan and Jesus, which AI answered
