It should and must be left up to the citizens. They are the ones who choose their public servants and it is those public servants who should re- spond to their constituents.

The good news is that as a result of his efforts reported crime in DC has been on a rapid de- cline . . . at least temporarily. Most applaud the President’s ef- forts while still others express concerns that the President is going beyond his purview by prom- ising to take this practice across America to cities like Chicago and Los Angeles. Do the ends justify the means? So, will flooding the fruited plains with law en- forcement officers while stuffing our courts with more citizens help solve our moral problems here in America? Will “the ends justify the means” by adding multiple more citizens to our prison rolls solve our justice problems? Keep in mind that the USA is already the leader among all nations when it comes to incarcerating its citizens and if the President has his way, we will not only be building more data centers but more prisons as well. Rounding up the posse Now, when it comes to sending law enforce- ment personnel and troops to other states there’s an issue that seems to be overlooked. The Posse Comitatus Act = 18 U.S.C. 1385: specifically “reinforces the distinction between military and civilian authority by limiting the role of armed forces in domestic law enforce- ment. Civilian agencies — such as local police, sheriff’s offices, — retain primary responsibility for maintaining public order. Courts have re- peatedly ruled that military personnel cannot conduct investigations, interrogate suspects, or enforce criminal penalties.” Only acts of con- gress should be used for such exercises and not unilateral executive orders.

Safety first? Does “safety first” mean we just lock ‘em all up and let God sort out the good ones from the bad ones? Folks, what the President is proposing to do by per- sonally addressing crime in sovereign States and Cities is to, in effect, estab- lish Martial Law throughout America. More importantly, he would be setting a precedent that any King, oops I mean President (conservative or liberal) can then follow, as long as crime exists in America. 1984 - Back the future Do we not have enough citizens, es- pecially children, in jail already? How about a future with more drones, more surveillance cameras, or perhaps we should just turn the whole issue over to AI while assuring that everyone has a mark on their wrist or forehead, amen? Here’s a noteworthy fact: Today’s jus- tice system consists of laws that con- tinue to vacillate and judges who ignore “the laws of nature and nature's God” in deference to their political affiliation. Yes we can become a 1984 police state or we can address the root cause of the issue versus putting all of our time and resources into treating the symptoms. “As goes the family...” The bottom line here is that Amer- ica is an amoral and unjust nation
