three separate lines (controlled using an app for iOS and Android phones), offering homeowners a user-friendly way to man- age their lighting. The new transformer makes it possible to activate the light- ing at specific times of day or night. For instance, there is the possibility to have a few lights around the house switched on at all times for safety reasons, one line that switches on around bedtime and one that is only used when entertaining outdoors. This further reduces energy consumption in the yard, contributes to reducing light pollution and increases the service life of the fixtures. In addition, the introduction of the SMART HUB-150 also enables us to contin- ue innovating in other areas in the years to come. One such innovation is a fixture control mechanism using a smartphone. The possibilities do not end with the switching on and off of the lights, but will be expanded with additional features in the future. An intuitive control method is important and the in-lite app for the SMART HUB-150 provides just that. At in-lite, we have a very clear idea about the future and the steps we would like to take. After all, we have learned a great deal over the past 20 years and apply this knowledge daily in developing new prod- ucts. We will continue to innovate, inspire and support customers when purchasing lighting for their outdoor spaces.
At the same time, today’s consumers are more critical than back in 1999. And rightfully so. We are increasingly aware that we need to take action to protect the environ- ment. This responsibility is one we take seriously as a company. In recent years, for example, we have discon- tinued producing fixtures with a fluorescent lighting source. We have also reduced the amount of plastic in our packaging. And all LEDs in our fixtures now have a more sustainable footprint and we are ready to switch to new and more efficient transformers, the ultimate model being our SMART HUB-150. With the SMART HUB-150, we are not only introducing a major technological advancement, but also a transformer that makes outdoor spaces more sustainable in several ways.
