MY GRANDPARENTS’S HOUSE Usually, when someone gets asked about what their favorite place is, they will surely say their room, but that’s not my case. My favorite places are my grandparents’ houses. It’s not about the place, it’s about the memories and moments. I’ve been thinking about what my favorite place is for a while, but after having been at my grandfather’s house, I have realized what places I want to talk about. What I like about their houses is the feeling of joy and calm when I sit in a chair by the heat of the brazier with my family. Even if a conversation doesn’t come out, I still feel comfortable, happy and lucky to be able to spend time with them. Lately, I’ve been trying to go more times to each house (my mother’s parents and my father’s dad). I want to spend more time with them, especially with my grandpa José and my uncle Jose, knowing that soon, maybe, I won’t be able to see them, so I want to be there for them as long as I can. My grandpa José’s family is huge, so every weekend I see someone different. My uncles and aunts take turns to take care of my grandpa and uncle. On the other hand, when I go to my grandma’s house, I take the afternoon snack with her. I always go with the thought of seeing my grandpa Rodrigo too, he usually gets up later, so I take my colacao and then, when he wakes up, I talk a little with him (he is a man of few words haha :)). I usually arrive when she has fini- shed watching her soap opera. She has a tablet, so once in a while, we play together a game that she has recently started playing. We always play the fool, she’s a strong pillar in my life. I love both of these places so much, and even if my grandparents’ aren’t there in the future, I hope that I can still visit their houses and feel the same joy and calm as now. Por Noa Mena Rodríguez(Bachillerato) LA PLAZA DE LA FUENTE Voy a hablar sobre mi lugar favorito en Llerena que es la Plaza la Fuente. Es una de las plazas que hay en Llerena. Es rectangular, descubierta, amplia, rodeada de viviendas, algunas de las fachadas de esas viviendas son Mudéjar. Se puede acceder a la plaza por cuatro calles distintas. En la Plaza hay varias macetas de olivos y un par de bancos. El suelo de la plaza es de piedra y es una zona pea- tonal, donde no pueden aparcar los coches. En el norte de la plaza, se encuentra la Fuente Pellejera, que es un lugar muy importante en Llerena, porque se piensa que la ciudad de Llerena se creó a partir de esta fuente. La Fuente Pellejera está rodeada de escalones descendentes, en forma rectangular. En el centro aparece un hexágono donde caen las aguas de unos caños que están abajo. En la parte superior hay una cruz. Se encuentra cerrada por una verja que la rodea. Me produce mucha relajación cuando miro la plaza por la ventana de mi casa, mientras entra el sol o me siento en uno de los bancos que hay. También siento mucha alegría, porque es un lugar donde nos reunimos y hablamos los vecinos que allí vivimos. Creo que es un lugar muy especial por su historia.
