EW YORK, NY — – The new Statue of Liberty Museum offi- cially topped off when its final structural beam was raised in a ceremony on Liberty Is- land. Slated to open in 2019, the museum is designed by FXFOWLE, ESI Design, and DeSimone Consulting En- gineers . This milestone was achieved little more than a year after the project broke ground. DeSimone Consulting En- gineers, an engineering firm with offices worldwide, worked closely with FXFOWLE, the National Park Service, and the Statue of Liberty – Ellis Island Foundation to help cre- ate the new cultural facility. In addition to an indoor museum, Lady Liberty’s new 26,000 s/f will include a sprawling outdoor plaza and a rooftop terrace with incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. Olympia Hotel Management has been selected to manage the project once it opens. The hotels are part of The Bend on the Mighty Mississippi, a master-planned mixed-use development on a former industrial site located along the Mississippi River that brings retail, lodging, restaurants, apartments, of- fices and other amenities to a 132-acre site. There is a mile of unobstructed riverfront and a views of a noteworthy bald eagle breeding ground. Open- ing in 2018. IN DEVELOPMENT Colby College, Waterville, ME Olympia will develop and manage Colby’s new 42-room boutique hotel and restau- rant in downtown Waterville, Maine.
