EW YORK, NY — – The new Statue of Liberty Museum offi- cially topped off when its final structural beam was raised in a ceremony on Liberty Is- land. Slated to open in 2019, the museum is designed by FXFOWLE, ESI Design, and DeSimone Consulting En- gineers . This milestone was achieved little more than a year after the project broke ground. DeSimone Consulting En- gineers, an engineering firm with offices worldwide, worked closely with FXFOWLE, the National Park Service, and the Statue of Liberty – Ellis Island Foundation to help cre- ate the new cultural facility. In addition to an indoor museum, Lady Liberty’s new 26,000 s/f will include a sprawling outdoor plaza and a rooftop terrace with incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. design.” DeSimone Consulting Engi- neers has recently completed numerous award-winning proj- ects in New York, including P.S. 62, NYC’s first net-zero energy school, the iconic Stan- dard Hotel and New School Hyatt Place hotel and 99-room Hyatt House hotel. Olympia Hotel Management has been selected to manage the project once it opens. The hotels are part of The Bend on the Mighty Mississippi, a master-planned mixed-use development on a former industrial site located along the Mississippi River that brings retail, lodging, restaurants, apartments, of- fices and other amenities to a 132-acre site. There is a mile of unobstructed riverfront and a views of a noteworthy bald eagle breeding ground. Open- ing in 2018. IN DEVELOPMENT Colby College, Waterville, ME Olympia will develop and manage Colby’s new 42-room boutique hotel and restau- rant in downtown Waterville, Maine. The hotel will form the gateway to Waterville’s downtown revival and ground breaking is expected to com- mence in 2018.
