Celui-ci devra faire le lien entre le service de surveillance de quartier et la Police provinciale de l’Ontario (PPO). La première étape de la mise en œuvre du projet est de vérifier l’intérêt de la population en organisant une soirée d’information et d’inscription au comité. Cette rencontre devrait avoir lieu d’ici le début du mois de juillet afin de procéder au lancement du programme au mois d’août. Les candidats intéressés de participer au service de surveillance de quartier devront produire une vérification d’antécédents judiciaires.
Le conseil municipal de Casselman autorise la mise en place d’un comité et d’un service autonome de surveillance de quartier pour la municipalité avec un budget de départ de 500 $.
