The Liquor and Gaming Branch has been sending updates throughout this year to licence and permit holders to provide information about important issues and priority areas for the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission and the Commissioner for Licensing. Recently, we sent an update for venue operators, liquor communications and a general newsletter. These communications are also available from our website under ‘Publications’: Publications and research | Treasury and Finance Tasmania These updates will continue next year so please look for in your emails, as they will assist you to meet your regulatory responsibilities.

Trading over Christmas and New Year’s

Premises that hold a General, On or Club licence may trade to the following hours, on the following days without needing an Out of Hours permit: • Christmas Eve - until 2am Christmas Day • New Year’s Eve - until 3am New Year’s Day This is only authorised in conjunction with the following conditions: • No liquor is removed from the licensed premises during the hours specified in this extension. • Any conditions of an out-of-hours permit issued in respect to a General, On and Club licence premises also apply to these extended hours.
