TAGALOA has a great second-up record (2 from 3) whilst MO’UNGA is a very talented colt, that is two from two fresh. CS HAYES Colin Sidney Hayes AM OBE (1924-99) was one of the great racehorse trainers of the post war era in Australia. Starting from modest facilities at Semaphore in Adelaide, he was a visionary who established Lindsay Park at Angaston (SA) in 1966, and by 1970 he had developed it into Australia’s premier private training complex. Mr Hayes also later set up stables at Flemington. CS Hayes was the first trainer to successfully encourage substantial foreign investment in the Australian racing and breeding industries, and he won the Melbourne Cup with imported horses Beldale Ball (USA) in 1980 and At Talaq (USA) in 1986. The late Mr Colin Hayes was widely respected at home and abroad, and was universally liked by all who knew him – his contribution to Australian Racing is incalculable.
