THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT WOMEN IN MY LIFE A TOKEN OF MY APPRECIATION THIS MOTHER’S DAY

T his month, with Mother’s Day right around the corner, I’d like to take a moment to recognize the two most important women in my life: my beautiful wife, Karen; and my incredible mom, Kate. I know that without the lifelong support of these two powerful, kind, and intelligent women, there’s no way I’d be where I am today. Growing up, my mom was the rock of my life. My stepdad, whom she divorced later in life, was in the military traveling around the country and rarely a consistent presence. Meanwhile, my mother was always there when my sisters or I needed to talk and to give us guidance and encouragement. She was the picture of patience and kindness, showing us how to deal with others while keeping things in perspective.

a year, and I always try to let her know just how important her guidance has been to me.

Certainly, without my mom teaching me all she could about building relationships and being genuinely invested in others’ lives, I’m sure I never would have met Karen. And without my wife by my side, I really can’t imagine what my life would be like today. We match up well; I’m the big-picture, long-term-focus guy, and she’s on top of the short-term nitty-gritty of the everyday. She handles the crazy schedules of our three girls and offers them invaluable support, just like my mom did for me. I’m thrilled that my daughters have Karen as an awesome role model to look up to, with her driven attitude and trademark intensity. She was the picture of patience and kindness, showing us how to deal with others while keeping things in perspective.” For Mother’s Day this year, I’ll probably do the classic holiday move and take Karen out to eat as the tiniest token of my immense appreciation for her. Mom will be up north, but I’ll make sure to give her a call as well. It would be impossible for me to express my gratitude to Karen and my mom for everything they've done for me and our family, but I plan to spend the day trying.

Once, she drove us from Pennsylvania to Colorado in a little blue Volkswagen Beetle when I was only six years old. I’m sure it was a trip that took more than a little patience on her part, but all I remember is the fun we had along the way. I watched the landscape and chatted endlessly to my mom. Though she lives about three hours north of us today, I still see her a couple times

I hope all of you have a happy Mother's Day and a wonderful May!

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION ISN’T SEASONAL HEAT UP THE SLOW MONTHS WITH A ‘WOW!’

A little customer appreciation can go a long way — after all, everyone likes to be treated well by the people they do business with. But if your appreciation stops at holiday cards and birthday offers, you might be missing the mark. Summer tends to be the slow season, so take the extra time to plan a new way to show customers you care. HOST A SUMMER EVENT There’s no need to plan a black-tie gala. Summer is the season of relaxation, so keep it low-key, and let your clients know they are welcome to bring their friends and family. Here are a few fun ideas to consider: ● Host a barbecue at the office or local park. Make sure you have the proper permits first. ● Book a movie theater, and show the latest blockbuster. (We hear “Avengers: Infinity War” is pretty awesome.) ● Plan an adults-only scavenger hunt. Include local landmarks, offer prizes, and provide grown-up beverages afterward to make the event really memorable. ● Throw a block party. This one requires some planning, but if you pull it off, your clients will talk about it until next summer! DELIVER ONE BIG ‘WOW’ Social media makes it pretty easy to keep up with everyone’s lives, so look for an opportunity to make a great impression on one customer. Maybe a client is expecting their first grandchild. Could they use a new stroller? Is a wedding anniversary coming up? Who wouldn’t love a limo ride and dinner at the nicest restaurant in the city? Go

a bit over the top! People love to share stories on social media about the cool, unexpected things businesses do. Wouldn’t you like to go viral for a good reason? SEND CARDS FOR STRANGE HOLIDAYS Sure, you mail cards during the winter holidays, but so does everyone else. Why not mail a card for National

Doughnut Day on June 1? You can even include a coupon to a local doughnut shop. Or you can send a funny card with a picture of your office dog for National Mutt Day to announce that, thanks to your client’s support, your company is donating to a local animal shelter. These ideas may work great for your clients, or you might need to brainstorm a bit. Your clients are as unique as your company, so don’t hesitate to find a special way to show them you care.

TESTIMONIALS

"When we worked with Tyler Wells, we arrived on time for the appointment, but he was already there and had already completed the roof check! Next, we walked through the house together. It was a complete learning experience. He went into details, explaining each and every step/test and what was expected. He is knowledgeable about everything that required attention within the house and the surroundings. One of my best experiences ever. I am very glad I used Liberty, and I totally recommend them if anybody would like to have a property inspected." –Mark H. " Chris did an awesome job. He arrived early, was extremely detailed, and explained everything to both the buyer and the agent. Chris was professional, very polite, and an overall pleasure to talk to. This was my third time using Liberty Inspection, and I will continue to recommend their services to my clients." –Jay B.

MOLD: AN INVISIBLE THREAT TO YOUR HEALTH AND FINANCES

W hen buying or selling a home, everyone is on the lookout for signs of mold — little red flags that indicate there may be dangerous spores damaging your home and hurting your health. And even in the worst cases, mold can be a lot harder to detect than most people think. Regardless of which side of the transaction you’re on, it’s important to be on the lookout for this potentially dangerous fungus. Keep an eye out for water marks on the walls or ceiling, standing water anywhere within the home, or even the faintest trace of a musty smell. The most common culprits are leaking pipes, windows, and holes in the roof that provide a consistent source of life-giving water to molds of all types. If there’s been previous flooding in a home, there’s a good chance it was improperly drained and dried, especially in the basement, which provides an invitation for spores to take up permanent residence.

ventilation. If the owner doesn't bother to air the place out every once in a while, it can give mold a cool, damp place to fester. Sometimes you can find traces of mold on your own, but if you want 100 percent confidence that your home is safe, you’ll need to hire a professional. At Liberty

Inspection Group, we offer comprehensive mold and air-quality testing services to provide you with a detailed analysis of the levels and types of mold found in a

home. We’ll hunt mold down long before it ever becomes obvious to a layman, meaning you can skip the enormous mold removal costs down the road and avoid being stuck with a money pit. Give us a call at 610-717-3082 to schedule your inspection, and ensure your prospective home is completely mold-free.

And it’s not just old, beaten-down buildings that end up with mold. New homes may be tightly sealed, trapping moisture in the air, or come equipped with poor

ENRICH YOUR VACATION BUY LOCAL WHEN YOU’RE ABROAD

The virtues of buying locally sourced food and supporting small businesses have been widely extolled. But we rarely think to apply the same practices when we travel. Many Americans spring for all-inclusive packages when planning their next summer vacation, but doing so means they’ll miss out on some of the best aspects of the culture they’re visiting.

about their favorite place to eat. You’ll discover new foods and flavor combinations, and the locally owned restaurant is sure to appreciate your business!
