e Lyric eatre in downtown Stuart, Florida, is a historic performing arts venue that rst opened in 1926. Originally built as a silent movie house, it quickly became a community hub and later introduced Martin County’s rst talking lms. Over the years, the theater hosted movies, live performances, and community events, surviving the Great Depression and various ownership changes. A er serving brie y as a church, it was restored and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. Today, the Lyric operates as a nonpro t arts center with around 500 seats, o ering concerts, plays, lms, and educational programs like the Discovery Series for local students.
